International Women’s Day Celebration Through Art

Bundelkhand Art Society host the International Women’s Day Celebration. The Government Museum Jhansi was the co-host of the International Women’s Day Celebration. Under International Women’s Day, Society organized Manu (an International Women’s Artist Exhibition on 6 March 2020

Bundelkhand Art Society in association with Govt. Museum Jhansi is going to host the International event for women artists on the occasion of International Women’s Day from 6 to 8 March in the Art Gallery of Govt. Museum Jhansi (UP). It is free of cost opportunity for all International women, artists to showcase their works at the International level.

Manu- The Power Of Women

“Manu-The Power of Women” The International Women Exhibition-2020 is only for women artists from around the globe. This unique event is for the women, by the women in which from organizing to chief guest & guest of honors will be females only. Celebrating International Women’s Day, BAS is dedicating this entire program to Jhansi Ki Rani (Queen of Jhansi) Rani Laxmi Bai.

Laxmi Bhai’s childhood name was Manu. The name ‘Manu’ is used as the title of this show. However, ‘Manu’ is representing the whole womanhood. Manu (Queen of Jhansi) is the role model to the whole women from the world for her sacrifice, love, patriotism, bravery, dedication, & dutifulness.

About The Show

It is a three days exhibition only for women artists from all around the world. This is the first program of its kind of Bundelkhand Art Society. This program is totally free. However, wen did not charge any money from the women artists.

In fact, we awarded the top five best entries with Gold medals and certifications. This selection was on the basis of experience and quality of work.

Gold Medalists

In this show, we received more than 200 entries across the world. Out of these, we finalized only the best 88 entries for the show. However, we already declared the list of those 66 women artists. Even, we informed every artist individually too. The Society chosed the following artists were awarded gold medals:

  • Sadhana Shukla (Bhopal)
  • Praveena Mahicha (Ahmedabad)
  • Anjali Prabhakar (Bhopal)
  • Richa Rai (Datia)
  • Shivangi Shrivastava (Jhansi)

Manu Award of Honor

Apart from this, celebrating International Women’s Day, Bundelkhand Art Society is going to honor three women who have an extraordinary contribution in their like Education, Sports, Social Service, and any other field. So, our selection team selected these women for the Manu Award of Honor:

  • Neeti Shashtri (Educationist, Retd. Teacher & President Awardee)
  • Archana Gupta (Politics & Educationist)
  • Ranjana Gupta (International Shooter & Police Inspector in Crime Branch, Jhansi)

The international event was inaugurated on 6 March 2020. The Chief Guest Dr. Sunita, Asst. Professor, fine Art dep. Bundelkhand University Jhansi along with special guest Mrs. Kamini Baghel inaugurated the event. Just after the inauguration, a medals and honors distribution ceremony will take place. However, the certificates of participation were distributed to the women artists on the same day. The closing ceremony of this exhibition will be held on 8 March 2020 at 3 pm.

This exhibition will remain open for the public from 10 am to 5 pm daily from 6 March to 8 March 2020. In fact, it is a unique program of the Bundelkhand Art Society at the international level. However, if we get a great response and success, we will make it our regular project to organize it every year.
